A personal note from Stephanie Shepherd, Founder of Stephanies® Luxury Spas
When I think about what matters most at Stephanies®, I think about how people feel when they are in our care.
Life can ask a great deal of us. Between work, family, caring for others and managing everyday expenses, there is often very little room left for ourselves. I am mindful that choosing to visit Stephanies® is a considered decision, and I never take the time or trust our guests give us for granted.
That trust deserves care in return: a warm welcome, a therapist who listens and the freedom to explain what you need, knowing it matters.
Since founding Stephanies® in 1994, I have wanted to create places where people feel comfortable and cared for. A visit may not change the demands waiting at home, but I hope the time spent with us offers a welcome pause.
Alongside my husband Des, I have shared so much of the Stephanies® journey. Building and caring for a business together brings its own responsibilities, challenges and moments of joy. Through it all, our people and the trust our guests place in us mean a great deal to us both.
Feeling welcome as you are
People come to a spa for many reasons. Sometimes it is a celebration or time shared with someone they love. Sometimes they are looking for guidance with their skin. Sometimes they simply need a little space to themselves.
Whenever a visit feels right for you, you do not need to arrive knowing exactly what to ask for.
Care looks different for everyone. You might enjoy a conversation or prefer quiet. You may want skin advice or simply time to rest. Whether you visit regularly or are stepping into a spa for the first time, I want you to feel welcome as you are.
Care begins with listening
Personalised care starts with understanding the person in front of us. How are you feeling today? What would you like from your treatment? Is there anything that would help you feel more comfortable?
Those conversations shape the experience. You can ask for a change in pressure or temperature, let us know you would prefer quiet, or ask us to explain something. You should feel comfortable speaking up.
For me, expertise should feel reassuring. When you want guidance, our role is to help you understand your options and feel confident choosing what suits your needs and circumstances.
Respecting Rituals while looking ahead
Our philosophy has long expressed something I feel deeply:
“Embrace new technologies, respect ancient rituals, step away from the ordinary and create breathtaking experiences.”
Treatments and technology have evolved over the years. Learning helps us keep developing our knowledge, while time-honoured rituals and the care of skilled hands remain an important part of the experience.
The question I want us to ask is how an approach can improve the experience for the guest. Whatever changes, kindness, personal attention and respect must continue to guide us.
The people who bring it to life
Our team gives these beliefs their daily expression. Their knowledge matters, and so does the kindness they bring to their work.
Supporting their learning and encouraging thoughtful, attentive care is part of building the experience I want Stephanies® to be known for. Beautiful spaces can set the scene; it takes people to make you feel truly welcome within them.
After more than three decades, I still believe the small details deserve our attention. The time you have set aside matters, whether this is a familiar ritual or a visit you have saved for and looked forward to.
For me, this has always been the heart of Stephanies®: making people feel welcome, listened to and cared for.

Beautiful skin isn't created in a single treatment or a single product. It is shaped by small rituals, thoughtful guidance, and moments of care repeated over time. At Stephanies®, we believe skincare should feel less like another task and more like a daily act of wellbeing.
