Noosa’s Outrigger Little Hastings Street Resort & Spa is not the easiest place to find. There are two entrances, at either end of a sprawling estate, and the three people I stop to ask for directions give me wildly different replies. I am running late for an appointment at Stephanies Ocean Spa. A serene Robin answers my frantic call and beams me in. Then it takes less than five minutes to totally relax at this 11-suite haven, which has all of the wellness world’s must-haves, from a flotation pool to Vichy showers that rinse and refresh urban-lagged clients as they lie on an acacia cedar platform bed. A Shiro-abhyanga head massage, based on Ayurvedic principles, seems the shot or massages with hot stones or herbal poultices. The Sole Suite is fun to book for mani-pedi parties and the relaxation lounge (pictured) is a lovely spot to loll, with a Berry Boost tea to hand, full of antioxidants. Spa owner Stephanie Shepherd started her career with a two-room salon and now runs four day spas in Queensland, including an award-winning retreat at Sofitel Brisbane and, in the Brisbane suburb of Cleveland, the Vintage Spa in an 1852 Queenslander with heritage features and shabby chic interiors. I have been in safe hands – my drive back to Noosa proper is a much calmer proposition. More: stephanies.com.au
The latest initiative from Stephanies® Ocean Spa really is a treat and would make a perfect Christmas gift, or girls’ night out.
The Spa’s new Soul Lounge can accommodate up to five in luxury, and comes complete with its very own movie projector so you can sit back, relax and watch your favourite chick flick in style.
The treatment began with a rose petal foot soak and exotic foot exfoliation using Stephanies® signature blends.
A unique heated foot massage followed, which I found totally relaxing during this busy pre-Christmas week.
The next part of the treatment was amazing! My therapist, Kerry, assured me the warm paraffin immersion would make my feet the softest they had ever been. And she was right!
Each foot is placed into a bag of hot, melted paraffin, blended with special oils. The wax was left to set while I enjoyed a relaxing hand and arm massage.
The wax was then removed and Kerry shaped and painted my toenails, using the butter LONDON lacquer range.
This exciting range of colours include such cheeky offerings as Come to Bed Red, Tea With The Queen, Lady Muck, The Full Monty and Frilly Knickers. I chose Cake-Hole.
A cult phenomenon of the nail industry, the 3 Free (non-toxic) nail lacquer products are for- mulated without the use of harmful ingredients like formaldehyde, toluene, DBP or parabens – which can be nasty for you and your nails. butter LONDON’s Creative Director, Nonie Creme, creates unique and bespoke shades for countless A-list celebrities and the seasonal catwalks of Calvin Klein, Betsey Johnson and Alexander Wang, and the nail lacquers are reg- ularly featured in fashion bibles such as Vogue, W magazine, and Tatler. Start collecting the range from Stephanies Ocean spa and prepare for high fashion nail colour.
After your treatment you simply chill out in the relaxation lounge with your chosen refreshments. Sole Rejuvenation offers 90 minutes of bliss for $155.
The perfect idea for Christmas gift giving – gift vouchers for pedicure treatments are available now at www.stephanies.com.au
