Chapter 4. The ocean was calling.
Stephanies Ocean Spa opened in 2010 and is located in the heart of cosmopolitan Noosa at the new Outrigger Little Hastings Street Resort & Spa. Stephanies Ocean Spa is the largest in the group, spanning more than 450 square metres and boasting 11 magnificent treatment rooms including couples suites, a triple treatment suite with private floatation pool and a rain therapy vichy shower, complete with a stunning hand crafted acacia cedar shower bed.
“The architectural design of the Noosa spa allowed us to create a variety of treatment spaces, from private garden suites to geisha hydro baths, floatation pools and comfortable group domains”, says Shepherd.
“It’s important to offer the basics in spa therapy as well as introduce new and amazing treatments for our clients to experience”.
True to her word, the various spa menus incorporate everyday beauty therapies and unique treatments, such as anti aging vino therapies and the amazing health benefits of the mineral colour therapy floatation pool.
Chapter 3. Mademoiselle Stephanie adds a French touch
Stephanies Spa Retreat, located on level three of Sofitel Brisbane Central opened in June 2007 and is a welcome city escape for “locals in the know”, visiting celebrities and hotel guests. The French inspired spa boasts 8 treatments rooms, including individual suites and a couple’s suite. The sensory and tranquility lounges are ideal for group bookings and are popular for hen’s evenings, pre-wedding parties and baby showers.
The Opal Rasul Temple is undoubtedly the masterpiece of Stephanies Spa Retreat.Accommodating up to 4 adults and is a sultry one-hour journey of mud therapy, warm steam and tropical rain showers. The ancient cleansing ritual involves covering the body in Stephanies signature mineralised body masks to powerfully detox and purify the skin. The temple comes complete with personal showers and a filtered water station so clients are assured absolute privacy and comfort throughout the spa experience.
The unique mosaic dome style cave is the only one of its kind in the Southern Hemisphere and its benefits have been enjoyed by the likes of many sports identities and musical starlets, including the talented Alicia Keys, Chris Martin and Motley Crue, who both left their creative remarks in the tranquil lounge guest book. Lets just say they thought it was ” insert bleep” AMAZING.
Chapter 2. Bulimba is born.
“I had a vision and desire to combine beauty therapies with peaceful places of harmony and balance. I dreamt of creating more than a beauty therapist salon. I wanted to design spas where people could cocoon themselves from the outside world. Even if my clients were only visiting for a short time, I wanted them to feel like they had entered another world when they stepped through the doors.”

Stephanies Urban Spa officially opened in Bulimba in 2002, proving a popular haven for local clientele. The Urban Spa features 12 treatment rooms and specialises in maintenance beauty therapies, as well as advanced skin care and microdermabrasion.
